BSOP Floripa 2026 is officially on the clock: from September 4 to 8, Brazil's national poker championship — celebrating its 20th anniversary this season — lands at the Costão do Santinho resort in Florianópolis for the penultimate stop of the year. And here's the part that matters to most of us: the online satellite ladder to get there with a full package started this week, with a free first step.
The facts
The schedule features 26 tournaments with buy-ins from R$500 to R$25,000. The crown jewel is the R$4,000 Main Event: a 40,000 stack and 40-minute levels, with four starting flights — 1A and 1B on Saturday the 5th, 1C and 1D on Sunday the 6th —, Day 2 on Monday the 7th and the final table on Tuesday the 8th. Around it orbit the R$25,000 Super High Roller, the R$15,000 Grand High Roller, the R$2,500 Mini Main and the R$1,200 Start-Up Mystery Bounty that opens the festival on Friday the 4th.
The budget route? Online satellites run on PokerStars as a full ladder: every day at 18:03 a free qualifier with re-entry awards a seat into a US$16.50 satellite, feeding the US$215 MEGA Qualifier. The US$109 Qualifier runs on August 18 and 20 with five guaranteed packages each, and from the 21st a US$2.20 step joins the ladder. The high point is the Mega Satellite on Sunday the 23rd, guaranteeing 20 full packages — double the original plan —, with another edition on the 30th. Each package includes a Main Event seat plus accommodation for two at the all-inclusive resort.
Why it matters
A satellite doesn't play like a regular tournament: the prize is flat — a seat is worth the same to the first and the last qualifier —, so surviving beats accumulating, and the bubble is THE moment of the tournament. Show up to the ladder with an accumulator's mindset and you hand back your edge exactly when it matters most.
And the free step isn't decoration: a well-played freeroll is real training at zero bankroll risk. Climbing the whole ladder from US$0 is unlikely — fields are huge and variance is real —, but every step played with a plan is a study session that pays twice.
In our community we'll follow the road to Floripa step by step: which rung fits your bankroll and how a satellite bubble should be played. If Brazil is your home turf, this is the stop of the semester.
