The PLO Series, an online festival dedicated entirely to Omaha with $20 million in guarantees, delivered another Brazilian showcase: Murilo Milhomem, one of the country's foremost specialists in the format, shipped two titles in the same Tuesday session and banked more than $28,000 in prizes.
The facts: one night, two trophies
The headline win came in the $525 PLO Secret KO HR, a Mystery Bounty event (where each knockout reveals a surprise prize) that drew 159 entries and ran nearly six hours. Milhomem outlasted them all for $21,800 — on a podium with a distinctly Brazilian accent, as José Orlando took third ($17,418) and Bernardo Dias fourth ($8,555).
With no time to celebrate, the specialist also took down the $215 PLO Daily Cooldown, beating a 128-entry field for another $6,252. And the Brazilian night didn't stop there: "VIOLAA" won the Tuesday Classic over 825 entries ($16,503) and Eller Kirsten finished third in the Bounty Hunters HR ($20,604).
If you're new to it: PLO (Pot-Limit Omaha) is the world's second most played poker format. You're dealt four cards instead of two, you must use exactly two of them with three from the board, and bets are capped at the size of the pot. More cards, more combinations, more action — and considerably higher variance (the game's natural swings) than Texas Hold'em.

Milhomem's career sends a clear message to any developing player: owning a niche beats being average at everything.
